Cold, hot and fractional plasma — three technologies, not three intensities

Cold, hot and fractional plasma are not three settings of the same treatment. Each works differently and answers a different goal — here is how the skin analysis decides which one is yours.

The question I get most

"I had plasma. It didn't work for me."

I hear that sentence often, and my first question is usually: which plasma? Because plasma is not one treatment. My clinic in Rishon LeZion has three different plasma technologies, and they are not three intensities of the same thing — they work in different ways, on different layers, towards different goals. Plasma that failed is very often the right plasma chosen for the wrong purpose.

It is also the treatment that brought me here. Of all the technologies I have learned over the years, this is the one that stopped me — I saw what it does for eyelids, for scars and for stretch marks, and I went all the way in until I became a master in plasma. Today it is the heart of the clinic.

Cold plasma

Cold plasma is not thermal. It does not heat the skin and does not create a deliberate injury, which makes it my tool for skin that needs to calm down first.

I use it mainly to support the skin barrier, to soothe, and to work on reactive skin — skin that has become irritated, that responded badly to a previous treatment, or that simply is not in a state to absorb anything aggressive. It also combines with exosomes and with cellulite protocols on the body.

What matters to understand: cold plasma does not contract loose skin. If slackness is what bothers you, this is not the technology that will give you that — and if someone sells it to you as such, it is worth asking one more question.

Hot plasma

Hot plasma works entirely differently. It creates precise points on the surface of the skin, and those points contract loose skin.

This is the technology I turn to when the goal is tightening — eyelids, jawline, neck, abdomen. The clinic has two plasma pens and a continuous hot plasma device, and the difference between them is mostly control and working area.

It has a price: downtime. After a hot plasma treatment, expect redness, mild swelling, and sometimes a thin crust that sheds on its own. That is part of the process, not a surprising side effect, and you get the exact instructions before the session — not after it.

Cold plasma soothes. Hot plasma contracts. They are not the same machine at a different speed.

Fractional plasma

Fractional plasma works at depth, on texture. It is my choice when the problem is scarring — acne scars, scars on the body — or stretch marks, or skin texture that has lost its evenness.

It is built as a series. Change that rests on collagen building accumulates over weeks and is not fully visible the next morning, and I say that in advance so the expectation is aligned. Some of the improvement is felt early; the rest develops between sessions.

How the technology is chosen — and why it is usually not one

There is no single device that solves everything, and that is not modesty but an accurate description of the work. After the skin analysis I build a protocol from a combination of methods, and often the combination is two of the three: fractional for texture, hot for tightening, cold to calm the skin in between.

What decides is the state of your skin, what you have done before, and what you expect to get — and all three are examined at the consultation before anything is booked. If what you asked for is not achievable with this method, you will hear that from me up front.
